Charles Griffith Hughes, 31, 105 S. Eddy, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, 1978 at Mercy Hospital. He was born at Wichita, Nov. 4, 1947. He grew up in Fort Scott and graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1965. He later attended Fort Scott Community College. Mr. Hughes was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are a son, Charles Griffith Hughes, Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Griffith Hughes of Chickasha, Okla.; two sisters, Jenifer and Nancy Hughes of Chickasha; and his aunt, Miss Elizabeth Hughes of 105 S. Eddy with whom he made his home. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Konantz Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Gordon I. Zimmerman. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Mr. Hughes’ name at the First Presbyterian Church. |
