IN MEMORY OF

Jewell Arlene Marshall, 38, 323 Hulett, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, April
28, 1986, at Mercy Hospital. She was born July 16, 1947, at Girard, the
daughter of Jewell L. and Myrtle M. Baker Smith St. She married James
Henry Marshall Jr., Oct. 1, 1971 at Miami, Okla. Mrs. Marshall was a
1965 graduate of Fort Scott High School. She worked 15 years for the
Western Insurance Companies and since 1982 had been a dispatcher for
the Fort Scott Police Department. She was a member of the Bourbon
County Emergency Preparedness Unit.

Survivors include the husband, of the home; two step-daughters, Tammy
Lynn Marshall and Angela Kay DeLaney, both of Fort Scott; the parents,
of Fort Scott; two brothers, Jewell L. Smith Jr., Girard, and Harry E.
Smith, Independence, Kan.; two sisters, Nancy Berry and Amanda Smith,
both of Fort Scott; paternal grandmother, Sadie Smith, Fort Scott; two
nieces and a nephew. Alberta Conner of Fort Scott is her mother-in-law.

Police Chief Dale Ogran, who is an ordained minister in the Independent
Bible Church, will conduct services at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cheney’s
Memorial Chapel.

Burial will be in Old Arcadia Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cheney’s Memorial
Chapel.
