IN MEMORY OF
Mickey Lester Carpenter, age 58, resident of 710 Meadow Lane, Fort Scott,
Kansas, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Mercy Health Center following a
cancer illness. He was born December 9, 1947, in Fort Scott the son of Lester
Carpenter and Ida Mary Johnson Carpenter. Mick was a 1965 graduate of Fort
Scott High School. He married Linda Shepard on January 1, 1968. They later
divorced. He married Lisa McKenney on November 14, 1987. They later
divorced. Mick served in the United States Army in 1967 and 1968. He was a
brakeman/conductor for the Burlington Northern Railroad. His hobbies include
golf, fishing, hunting, cooking and especially Fort Scott High School sports.

Survivors include two sons, Kenny Carpenter, Overland Park, Kansas and
Clinton Carpenter, Fort Scott; two daughters, Kelly Krehbiel and husband Scott,
Shawnee, Kansas and Courtney Carpenter, Fort Scott. Also surviving is a sister,
Connie Humphries, Derby, Kansas and two grandsons, Jackson and Thomas
Krehbeil. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Pitman.

William James Schafer will conduct funeral services at 10:00 A.M. Friday in the
First Presbyterian Church. The eulogy will be given by Mike Pitman. Burial will
follow in the U.S. National Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the
Olson Frary Burkhart Post #1165 Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will
receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday in the Cheney Witt Memorial
Chapel. Memorials are suggested to a Children College Fund and may be sent
