

Wesley A. Edgar, age 58, Arkansas City, formerly of Fort Scott, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita. He was born June 20, 1946, in Wichita, the son of Clarence Edgar and Viola R. Nicolson Edgar. He was a 1965 Fort Scott High School graduate. He was a U.S. Army and Navy veteran. He retired after many years in the National Guard Army Reserves. Survivors include his mother, Viola R. Edgar, Wichita; two sons, Mike Edgar and Christopher Edgar; two daughters, Sarah Edgar and Mandy Edgar; two brothers, Vincent Edgar and John Edgar, Wichita; and one sister, Mary L. Harkins, Goodland. He was preceded in death by his father. The Rev. Jared Witt will conduct graveside services at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the U.S. National Cemetery. The Olson-Frary-Burkhart Post 1165 Veterans of Foreign Wards will conduct military honors. Visitation is planned for 1:30 p.m. in the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 S. Main St., Fort Scott. |
